Air conditioning is fast becoming a norm in many
countries in the world today. Being able to control the air temperature in a
closed area is a convenience that more and more homeowners desire to have, most
especially since you never can tell what dear Mr. Weather will do today (damn
global warming!). Also, this can especially be useful for setting the mood, if
you know what I mean, hehehe. What’s more, with those inverter-type thingies,
having an aircon unit is becoming quite practical.
But with great power (isn’t controlling air
temperature great?), comes great responsibility. What I mean by this is the
dreadful aircon
repair. Fixing a broken air
conditioning unit is really a ‘headache-ful’ if done by yourself (just ask your
husband). In times likes, who you gonna call? No, not the Ghostbusters. In
these situations you need professional help. Don’t worry, it isn’t that hard to
find one. As mentioned previously, there is quite a demand for ACUs, meaning,
therefore, that there will be a demand for people to repair them as well.
Do not, however, pick up that phone to call the repair
company as fast as you would call the fire department if you’re house was
burning down. Settle down. I give this caution because as there are many
companies offering aircon repair services out there, it is not entirely a
remote possibility that the one you’re about to call would do more damage to
your unit than fix it. Here are some things to remember when availing of their
services:
1)
History:
how long has the company been fixing air conditioning units, what are their
past works, do they have testimonials or references, do they have a good track
record, and similar stuff.
2)
Capabilities:
they might say that they repair ACUs, but by looking at their histories, you
can also gauge their capabilities. Do they have enough people to accommodate
your inquiry or request, do they have tools (based on the previous works
they’ve done, you’ll get an idea of whether they have the right tools to fix
your unit), what their working hours are, how close are they from your
residence, are their people professionals and do not have any unwanted record
of any kind, etc.
3)
Market
/ Pricing: again, from their history, you could already sense what type of
clients they attend to or what their price range might be. Those who have a
long line of experience of working with complex systems are not the people you
might invest time in inquiring about. They might not even entertain your
request!
Having the luxury of commanding your interior
environment comes with necessary risks and problems. But with the tips above,
you just might be fit for this kind of power
