Gifts and Why Happiness Isn't Always About Money

Since time in memorial, humans have been known to give gifts to people who are closest to their lives. From flowers, to cards, to chocolates, to cars, to houses to gadgets, we are known as one of the species who are generous enough shower presents to all those who are closest to hearts. No wonder a gift premium is special to many of us. Gifts are linked to happiness. And true enough there are people who actually give money as gift. Don’t get us wrong, money is something we need but the happiness it gives in our lives is short lived and does not really last nor does it make an impact. In this article we try to problematize gifts and why happiness isn’t always about money. To make it easier for us to digest we’ve come up with a list. Below is some of the reasons why. Have fun reading!

1.      It is wrong to think that rich people are happy people – There is an endless list of rich people across the globe and there are many stories and testimonies which point out to the facts that even if they all have the money they can have, they still have inadequacies in happiness among others.

2.      There are some things that money can’t buy – this comes as an obvious. There are far too many things in this world other that gift premium like money that will never buy happiness. Needless to say the simple things that you have in your life right now like the air that you breathe, the pets that you have among others are all sources of happiness. Friendship is another thing that money cannot and will never buy. Learn to value and treasure friends and you are assured of living a happier life. Ultimately finding true love that lasts a lifetime is a happiness money cannot equate.

3.      Happiness is about the people you actually have – if you just learn to appreciate the people around you then you wouldn’t have a hard time finding happiness.

4.      Contentment – if you have contentment with your relationships, with your job and with everything else in your life then you live a happier life. Your job and salary, for example, is a gift premium if you are more contented by it.

5.      Success – this is highly relative and what may be successful for others may not be true to some. Learn to redefine your success. Following from the above statement if you are more contented with everything that you have right now then you are already successful and hence happier.

You see, happiness is something that is so elusive we sometimes feel that a gift premium we receive is happiness that is forever. What we sometimes fail to see and recognize is the fact that there is more to happiness than just the plain material things that we get in this lifetime.
